## Synopsis

Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels (1980) is a American animated comedy series created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears for ABC, produced by Hanna-Barbera Cartoons. Captain Caveman, voiced by Mel Blanc, is a prehistoric hero who joins a trio of teen detectives, Dee Dee Skyes (Vernee Watson), Brenda Chance (Marilyn Schreffler) and Taffy Dare (Laurel Page), to chase villains and solve mysteries. The engine of the series is simple: each short episode sets the team against a scheme or bad guy, and the comedy comes from the caveman's anachronistic reactions to modern life and his clumsy bravado. The show runs for a single season of sixteen episodes, each only about eleven minutes long, arranged in a half-hour slot that packages brief adventures. Set in a contemporary present, the series has a bright, goofy, lighthearted register with a playful mystery flavor. Fans of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! and The Flintstones will find resonance in its slapstick humor, teen sleuthing, and Hanna-Barbera tradition of family-friendly cartoon adventure.
