## Synopsis

Drag Race Holland (2020-2021) is a Dutch national-television reality competition series created by RuPaul, Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato for Videoland and WOW Presents Plus. It adapts the American Drag Race format to the Netherlands, following a field of drag queens who compete for the title of Holland's Next Drag Superstar. Host Fred van Leer presides over each episode alongside a rotating judging panel that includes Nikkie Plessen, Marieke Samallo and Carlo Boszhard, with guest judges appearing in individual installments. Each week the contestants face runway challenges, comedic acting tasks and lip sync battles, with eliminations shaping the arc of the season. The series runs for two seasons and sixteen episodes of roughly fifty minutes each, a limited, self-contained competition rather than a continuing story. The tone is campy, flamboyant and celebratory, with sharp judging banter balanced by warmth toward the performers and their craft. Its engine is the pressure of weekly elimination and the drive to impress a demanding panel. Fans of RuPaul's Drag Race, Drag Race España and Project Runway will find the same mix of glamour, competition and theatrical critique, set against contemporary Dutch pop culture and the Dutch queer scene.
