## Synopsis

The Legend of the Condor Heroes (1983) is a Hong Kong wuxia martial arts series created by Johnnie To for TVB Jade, adapted from Louis Cha's celebrated novel. Its honest, earnest protagonist Guo Jing is played by Felix Wong Yat-wah, and his resourceful companion Huang Rong is played by Barbara Yung in a breakthrough role. Michael Miu Kiu-wai plays the conflicted Yang Kang, whose ambitions pull him away from his loyalties. Across fifty-nine episodes in three parts, the engine of the story is a young man trying to keep his word while rival martial sects, scheming masters and invading armies test every promise he has made. Each episode is built from duels, training quests, shifting alliances and the constant pressure of war-torn northern China. Set in a turbulent song dynasty era, the series moves through the jianghu, a world of sworn brotherhoods and dangerous rivalries. Its tone is earnest and romantic, with warmth between its leads balancing sharp martial showdowns and a steady sense of moral weight. Fans of Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, The Smiling, Proud Wanderer and other classic wuxia epics will find real resonance here. The series ran as a three-season classic, and the audience rating of 8.5 out of 10 reflects its enduring affection among viewers.
