## Synopsis

The Innocents (2020-2022) is a Turkish family drama series created by Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu and broadcast on TRT 1. Across two seasons and seventy-one episodes, it follows the Derenoğlu siblings, centered on Han, played by Birkan Sokullu, who has devoted his whole life to catering to his family's needs while shuttling tirelessly between work and home. His two obsessive sisters, Safiye and Gülben, played by Ezgi Mola and Merve Dizdar, orbit a sick parent whose needs define every household routine. The engine of the story arrives when Han sees and falls in love with İnci, played by Farah Zeynep Abdullah, and for the first time seeks out his own happiness. Each episode is built from kitchen-table confrontations, family obligations, workplace errands, and the slow erosion of routines that once seemed fixed. Set in contemporary Istanbul, the series unfolds as one continuing serialized story rather than a case of the week. Its tone is warm, emotionally heightened and melodramatic, with a sincere, sometimes wistful atmosphere that foregrounds guilt, duty and tentative hope. Fans of Kara Sevda and Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne? will find resonance in its domestic conflict and romantic longing, while viewers of Brothers and Sisters will recognize its sibling dynamics.
