## Synopsis

Tuff Money (2020) is a Romanian dark comedy crime miniseries created by Daniel Sandu for HBO Europe. Across six 48-minute episodes, two hapless stoplight technicians, Doru (Alexandru Papadopol) and Ionel (Cristian Bota), make an offhand joke about an imaginary heist. Soon everyone in their small Romanian town wants a piece of the pie, and the pair must make a decision that could change their lives forever. Adriana Titieni plays Elena, and Medeea Marinescu plays Evelina, both caught in the escalating scheme. The engine of the story is the gap between the pair's naivety and the town's growing greed, as rumor turns a throwaway idea into a plan with real stakes. Each episode tightens the pressure as more locals insist on their share. The tone is wry and absurd, with deadpan humor sitting beside genuine tension. Presented as a single self-contained limited series, it offers a compact, character driven ride. Fans of Fargo, Burn After Reading and Snatch will find resonance in its blend of small town crime and comic ineptitude.
