## Synopsis

Horimiya (2021) is a Japanese anime romantic comedy series adapted from a manga and produced by CloverWorks. Its premise follows Kyoko Hori (voiced by Haruka Tomatsu), a prim, perfect social butterfly at school who is secretly a brash homebody, and Izumi Miyamura (voiced by Koki Uchiyama), a gloomy-looking classmate hiding a gentle heart beneath piercings and tattoos. The engine of the series is the slow revelation of these private selves: when the two accidentally show each other what they normally conceal, they must navigate friendships, rumors and their own shyness while deciding whether their connection can grow into something more. Supporting characters, including Toru Ishikawa (voiced by Seiichiro Yamashita) and Yuki Yoshikawa (voiced by Yurie Kozakai), fill out the everyday classroom world of episodes built from school routines, small misunderstandings and tender moments. Told across a single thirteen-episode season, the show is a slice of life story with a warm, breezy register, gentle humor and a hopeful, romantic heart. Fans of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Your Lie in April and Toradora! will find similar resonance in its school romance and comfort-driven charm.
