## Synopsis

The Playbook (2020) is a American documentary docuseries created by Josh Greenbaum and John Henion for Netflix. Across five episodes of roughly thirty-five minutes each, the series gathers coaches with championship records who speak directly to camera about the personal rules they follow for success in sports and in life. José Mourinho is the most prominent voice, and he is joined by Glenn 'Doc' Rivers, Jill Ellis, Patrick Mouratoglou and Dawn Staley, each offering a distinct philosophy drawn from decades on the sideline. Rather than following a single plot, each segment works like a self-contained reflection, built from interviews and the lessons that shaped their careers, so the emotional engine is the pursuit of discipline, preparation and resilience. The tone is reflective and earnest, leaning toward inspirational without tipping into hype. Fans of The Last Dance, along with viewers who enjoy candid sports interviews, will find resonance in its blend of athletic achievement and human vulnerability. It is a single-season anthology of standalone talks, well suited to viewers seeking motivation in short sittings.
