## Synopsis

D.P. (2021-2023) is a South Korean military drama series created by Kim Bo-tong and Han Jun-hee for Netflix. Its young private An Jun-ho (Jung Hae-in) is assigned to capture deserters from the army, and the hunt pulls him into the lives of the men he tracks and the men who hunt with him. Han Ho-yeol (Koo Kyo-hwan) and Lim Ji-seop (Son Suk-ku) anchor the investigations, and each runaway reveals the bullying, hazing, and quiet cruelty that conscripts endure during their compulsory service. The engine is simple and relentless: each episode brings a new fugitive, a new cover story, and a new layer of the barracks system that makes escape feel like the only honest choice. The story unfolds across two seasons of six episodes each, with one continuing thread that deepens the characters rather than resetting with every case. Set in a South Korean army base and its surrounding camps in the modern era, the show is grounded and sombre, with a melancholy, tense atmosphere that lingers. Its social critique gives it a weight that fans of Squid Game and the gritty realism of Band of Brothers will recognize, while its investigative structure offers the pull of a manhunt. A Netflix original adapted from a webtoon, it suits viewers seeking a serious, character-driven Korean drama about the price of duty.
