## Synopsis

The New Woody Woodpecker Show (1999-2003) is an American animated sitcom created by Bob Jaques and Alan Zaslove for FOX, with a family-friendly kids cartoon tradition. Woody Woodpecker, the manic, laughing bird voiced by Billy West, is the engine of every episode: he schemes, pesters and provokes the people around him, especially his perpetually exasperated rival Buzz Buzzard, voiced by Mark Hamill, and the stern Ms. Meany, voiced by Andrea Martin. Woody's antics drive everyone to the edge of their patience, and each short episode is built from quick escalating gags and physical slapstick chaos. Across three seasons and 163 episodes of roughly seven minutes each, the show runs as a series of self-contained cartoon mischief rather than a continuing story. It is set in an unspecified contemporary American milieu and carries a breezy, amused, gently anarchic tone. Fans of Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry Kids Show and Tiny Toon Adventures will find resonance in its rapid-fire gags and rivalry-driven humor, making it an easy, light watch for young children and their families.
