## Synopsis

O Teatro das Tesouras (2018-2022) is a Brazilian documentary series produced by Brasil Paralelo for its own network. Presented as an eight-episode run, it follows the country's presidential elections through the figures who shaped them, with former and sitting leaders including Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Fernando Collor de Mello, Dilma Rousseff and Jair Bolsonaro appearing as themselves. Rather than a scripted drama, the show is built from interviews and archival material, with each episode weighing how candidates campaigned, governed and were remembered. Its engine is the contest itself: rival figures, shifting alliances and the public judgments that followed each vote. The series is concise and single season in shape, giving a focused look at modern Brazilian political history. Its tone is sober and analytical, with an atmosphere of reflection on power and national memory. Viewers drawn to political documentaries, election histories and Brazilian public affairs will find resonance in the vein of The Political Dilemma and Caught in the Act, both examining how leaders are judged by the public.
