## Synopsis

Police Woman (1974-1978) is an American network crime drama created by Robert L. Collins for NBC. Angie Dickinson stars as Sergeant Suzanne 'Pepper' Anderson, an undercover officer in the Los Angeles Police Department's Criminal Conspiracy Unit who poses as a mob girl, a prostitute, and other figures to infiltrate the city's criminal circles. Earl Holliman plays her supervisor Lieutenant Bill Crowley, and Charles Dierkop and Ed Bernard play fellow detectives who back her up on the street. The engine of the show is her double life: each week she must win the trust of dangerous suspects while keeping her cover intact, and each episode is built around a self-contained undercover assignment. Across four seasons and ninety-one episodes, the series moves at a brisk, action-forward pace with a steady stream of stakeouts, chases, and confrontations. Its tone is brash and earnest, with a sense of seventies Los Angeles grit under bright television gloss. Fans of Charlie's Angels, Starsky & Hutch, and Cagney & Lacey will find a familiar kinship in its blend of policework, glamour, and female-led action.
