## Synopsis

The Minions of Midas (2020) is a Spanish crime thriller miniseries created by Mateo Gil and Miguel Barros and released on Netflix. Businessman Víctor Genovés (Luis Tosar) is blackmailed by a group calling themselves the self-styled Midas favorites, who demand a large sum and threaten to kill a person at random at a designated place and time, adding new victims periodically until their goal is met. Genovés must weigh his fortune against a rising body count while the pressure tightens around his family and associates, including Mónica Báez (Marta Belmonte) and Inspector Conte (Guillermo Toledo), who is drawn into the investigation. The engine of the story is a race against a faceless extortion ring, with each episode built around a new killing, a new suspect and a new reason to doubt those close to Genovés. Across six episodes of roughly fifty minutes, the series delivers a compact, self-contained run with a single continuing storyline rather than standalone cases. Its tone is tense, bleak and paranoid, with a steady undercurrent of moral dread. Fans of La casa de papel and Money Heist will find resonance in its Spanish thriller energy, its criminal conspiracy and its pressure on a respectable figure caught in violent crime.
