## Synopsis

The Trusted (2021) is a Turkish action thriller drama series created by Ethem Özışık and produced by Tims Productions for atv. Burak Deniz plays Celal Kün, also known as Maraşlı, a former special forces soldier who has left his military life behind to run a second-hand bookshop. His single obsession is his daughter Zeliş, who was shot and remains gravely ill, and he will do whatever it takes to bring her back to life and to answer the pain inflicted on her. His quiet routine is upended when Mahur Türel, played by Alina Boz, walks into his shop and gets involved in an incident that binds their fates together. Alongside them, Cemil Büyükdöğerli plays İlhan Türel and Neslihan Acar plays Sedef Türel, whose family orbit pulls the story deeper into danger. The series is told as one continuing story across a single season of twenty-six long episodes, each running about two hours, and its engine is the slow tightening pressure of a hidden past meeting an ordinary present. The mood is brooding and tense, with moments of raw grief and the restrained intensity of a man trying to keep violence at bay. Set in contemporary Turkey, it offers the atmosphere of a prestige national thriller. Fans of Kurtlar Vadisi and Taken will find resonance in its mix of family stakes and controlled menace.
