## Synopsis

The Way of the Househusband (2021-2023) is a Japanese animated comedy series created for Netflix and produced by J.C.STAFF, an adult anime built on a sharp reversal of the gangster story. Its protagonist Tatsu, the legendary yakuza known as the Immortal Dragon, has left the underworld behind to become a fiercely devoted stay-at-home husband, and his wife Miku and his partner Masa are the household figures who share his days. The engine of the show is the friction between brute underworld competence and the mundane demands of a home: grocery runs, cooking, cleaning, and neighborhood errands are treated with lethal seriousness, while old rivals and former clan members keep reappearing to test his resolve. Each episode is a self-contained vignette, and the two seasons, running fifteen episodes in total, form a light, continuing comic thread rather than a dense plot. The tone is deadpan and absurd, with warm, gentle moments. Its setting is contemporary Japan, rendered in a bright everyday style. Fans of Gintama and Kaiji will find resonance in its blend of gangster iconography and comic domestic vignettes, and viewers who enjoy absurd domestic comedy will find it an easy, charming watch.
