## Synopsis

High-Rise Invasion (2021) is a Japanese animated survival thriller series created in Japan and released on Netflix, adapted from a manga. Yuri Honjou, a high-school girl, wakes stranded on a rooftop surrounded by skyscrapers in a bizarre world where masked figures butcher people in plain sight. Her goal is clear: survive, find her beloved brother, and escape. Voice actors Haruka Shiraishi as Yuri Honjou, Akira Sekine as Kuon Shinzaki, and Yuuichirou Umehara as the Sniper Mask anchor the ensemble. Each episode of this single twelve-episode season of roughly twenty-five minutes pushes her through brutal encounters with the Masks, whose inhuman strength makes every confrontation feel lethal, and with other survivors whose desperation curdles into cruelty. The tone is bleak, frantic and visceral, with a psychological edge that lingers after each standoff. Its shounen-flavoured anime presentation and gore-heavy set pieces give it a distinctly mature register. Viewers who appreciate Alice in Borderland and the gory survival edge of Attack on Titan will find the same appetite for relentless peril and moral collapse here.
