## Synopsis

A Private Affair (2022) is a Spanish period mystery series created by Teresa Fernández-Valdés, Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira for Prime Video. Marina Quiroga (Aura Garrido), a daring upper-class young woman with a detective's soul, refuses to let the police and her well-off family keep her out of the hunt for a serial killer terrorizing her town. Her faithful butler Hector (Jean Reno) becomes her unlikely partner, supplying discreet access to the households and back alleys that a girl of her station would never normally enter. Each of the eight episodes builds the investigation from interviews, suspicious encounters and small domestic clues, while the pressures of class, secrecy and family loyalty tighten around her. Pablo Zarco (Gorka Otxoa) and Andrés Castaño (Álex García) add further pressure and suspicion as the case deepens. The mood blends playful wit with genuine dread, so the tone shifts between lighthearted banter and tense, shadowy stakes. Fans of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and Gran Hotel will find resonance in its elegant period detail, class-crossing sleuthing and murder-driven suspense. Told in a single limited season of eight fifty-minute episodes, it offers a compact, atmospheric mystery with a strong sense of place and character.
