## Synopsis

Big Bet (2022-2023) is a South Korean crime drama series created by Kang Yun-sung for Disney+. Choi Min-sik plays Cha Moosik, a casino bar operator who flees a National Tax Service crackdown to the Philippines and launches a full-fledged casino business, courting politicians and business figures to protect it. Son Suk-ku plays Oh Seung-hoon, a Korean Desk investigator who tracks him across the Pacific, while Lee Dong-hwi and Heo Sung-tae play associates whose loyalties strain as money flows through the operation. Across two seasons and sixteen episodes, the engine is simple and relentless: a gambler's ambition collides with a legal net that keeps tightening, and each episode turns on a deal, a bribe, or a backroom bargain. Shaped as a serialized crime saga, the story moves through casino floors, luxury backrooms, and Manila's criminal underworld. The tone is tense and cynical, with a noir-tinged sense that betrayal is always one payment away. Viewers who enjoy the moral compromise of Breaking Bad, the high-stakes scheming of Money Heist, or the financial menace of Ozark will find a similar appetite for ambition and consequence here.
