## Synopsis

The Rig (2023-2025) is a British supernatural survival drama series created by David Macpherson for Prime Video. Rose Mason (Emily Hampshire) and Magnus MacMillan (Iain Glen) lead a crew on the Kinloch Bravo, an oil platform whose workers find themselves sealed off from all communication with the Scottish mainland by a mysterious fog. Their struggle is practical as much as frightening: managing failing environmental systems, dwindling resources and rising paranoia while searching for a route home. Fulmer Hamilton (Martin Compston) and Lars Hutton (Owen Teale) embody the fractures within the workforce, and Cat Braithwaite (Rochenda Sandall) and Heather Shaw (Molly Vevers) add further pressure points as loyalties shift. The show runs across two seasons and twelve episodes, with each hour built around immediate crises that feed a larger mystery about the threat outside. Its atmosphere is claustrophobic and earnest, a tense, grounded take on isolation in which the enemy is as much the crew's own mistrust as the unknown force. Fans of The Thing, Lost and The Terror will find a kindred blend of cabin-fever dread and survival drama. The series was canceled after its second season, leaving its central mystery unresolved.
