## Synopsis

Kin (2021-2023) is an Irish crime drama series created by Peter McKenna and Ciarán Donnelly for RTÉ One. Charlie Cox plays Michael Kinsella, a member of a Dublin crime family whose lives are dragged into a gangland war, alongside Aidan Gillen as the family patriarch Frank Kinsella, Clare Dunne as Amanda Kinsella, and Ciarán Hinds as Eamon Cunningham. The engine of the story is the tension between loyalty to blood and the demands of the family business, as each member weighs what they owe one another against what the drug trade and rival outfits will cost them. Across two seasons of eight episodes each, the show plays as one continuing serialized story, with each episode tightening the pressure on the household and its criminal dealings. Its drama is rooted in the rhythms of contemporary Dublin, with the grit of street-level trafficking set against the intimacy of kitchen-table confrontations. The tone is dark, tense and emotionally heavy, foregrounding loyalty, guilt and the cost of staying inside the family. Fans of Peaky Blinders, Gomorrah and Ozark will find resonance in its portrait of a criminal dynasty where love and violence sit uncomfortably close together.
