## Synopsis

The Astronauts (2020-2021) is an American family science fiction adventure series created by Daniel Knauf for Nickelodeon. Five young people, including Samantha "Samy" Sawyer-Wei (played by Miyako), Elliot Combs (Bryce Gheisar), and Martin Taylor (Keith L. Williams), accidentally launch aboard a spacecraft meant to intercept a mysterious asteroid. With no proper training and an onboard artificial intelligence that malfunctions at the worst moments, the kids have only each other to rely on as they improvise repairs, navigate hazards, and work out how to find their way back home. The show is built around resourcefulness and teamwork, with each episode delivering a self-contained crisis aboard the ship that keeps the stakes high while staying gentle. Its tone is hopeful, lighthearted, and reassuring, with a wholesome sense of friendship at its core. Its single season of ten episodes, each running about twenty-four minutes, makes it an easy family watch. Fans of Lost in Space and Zathura: A Space Adventure will find a similar mix of youthful peril and wonder.
