## Synopsis

Misfits of Science (1985-1986) is an American network superhero fantasy series created by James D. Parriott and Tim Kring for NBC. Dean Paul Martin plays Dr. Billy Hayes, one of a small team of scientists who each carry an unusual superhuman gift, and Kevin Peter Hall plays Dr. Elvin 'El' Lincoln, a fellow member whose abilities set him apart. Mark Thomas Miller appears as John 'Johnny B' Bukowski, with Courteney Cox as Gloria Dinallo and Max Wright as Dick Stetmeyer rounding out the principal cast. The engine of the series is the team's effort to use their gifts on everyday problems while keeping their abilities hidden from the institutions around them, with each episode built around a fresh mishap or adventure. The series runs sixteen episodes across a single season. Its tone is light, energetic and playful, with a breezy sense of comic adventure threaded through its superhero premise. Fans of The Greatest American Hero, Heroes and The A-Team will find a similar mix of ensemble heroics and easygoing 1980s action. The show is set in a contemporary American city with the ordinary texture of network television from its era.
