## Synopsis

Girlfriend, Girlfriend (2021-2023) is a Japanese animated romantic comedy series created from a manga and broadcast on MBS and TBS. Naoya Mukai, a high school student who has loved Saki Saki since grade school, is thrown into chaos when the cute Nagisa Minase confesses to him as well. Refusing to pick one over the other, he decides to date both, and the show builds its engine from the awkward logistics, jealousy and escalating mishaps that follow. Voiced by Junya Enoki as Naoya, Ayane Sakura as Saki and Azumi Waki as Nagisa, the series runs for two seasons and twenty-four episodes in a standard school-life setting. Each episode is a self-contained comic set piece built from exaggerated reactions and absurd escalation, so the mood stays breezy, silly and frequently over the top. Its shounen anime roots show in the tone and character archetypes. Fans of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Rent-A-Girlfriend will find a similar blend of romantic scheming and comic farce, while those drawn to Oreimo will recognize the polygamous romcom premise and the heightened school-life energy.
