## Synopsis

Equinox (2020) is a Danish supernatural mystery series created by Tea Lindeburg for Netflix. Astrid, haunted by visions, returns to the forest and island where her sister vanished along with her classmates twenty-one years earlier. Her investigation pulls at the buried memories of the people who were there, including the adult figures who still carry the weight of that night, with Danica Ćurčić as Astrid and Ask Truelsen as Falke at the center of the search. Each of the six episodes peels back another layer of testimony, old grudges and fragmented recollection, with the past bleeding into the present through dreamlike flashbacks and unsettling images. The engine is simple and gripping: Astrid wants answers she may not be able to bear, while the island's secrets resist every attempt to reach them. Lars Brygmann, Karoline Hamm and Hanne Hedelund fill out a community that seems to close ranks around its silences. Shaped as a single, self-contained season of six roughly forty-seven-minute episodes, the series builds a cold, atmospheric dread rooted in grief and trauma. Its brooding Nordic register and slow, eerie pacing will appeal to viewers who enjoy Dark, Twin Peaks and The Killing, and to anyone drawn to quiet small-community mysteries with a haunted core.
