## Synopsis

Spy City (2020) is a German-produced limited series created by William Boyd for MagentaTV, a six-episode miniseries of roughly forty-eight minutes per episode. British agent Fielding Scott (Dominic Cooper) is sent into divided 1961 Berlin after a defector is murdered, with a mission to unmask a mole hidden inside his own service. The engine of the show is his hunt: every lead pulls him deeper into a web of crime, betrayal and rival intelligence networks, and every ally he questions might be the traitor. Johanna Wokalek plays Ulrike Faber and Leonie Benesch plays Eliza Hahn, two women whose loyalties remain uncertain as Scott's investigation tightens. Episodes are built around interrogations, back-alley meetings, and shifting alliances in a city where walls and checkpoints shape every movement. Told as one continuous story across its six episodes, the series is a tense, paranoid spy thriller with a sober, wintry atmosphere and a steady, morally murky tone. Fans of Deutschland 83, The Spy and The Night Manager will find resonance in its cold war intrigue and its portrait of espionage as a corrosive, distrustful trade.
