## Synopsis

Duster (2025) is an American period crime drama created by J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan for Max. Set in 1972 across the American Southwest, the eight-episode limited series follows Nina Hayes, the first Black female FBI agent, as she recruits a gutsy getaway driver, Jim Ellis (Josh Holloway), into a risky scheme to take down a growing crime syndicate. Supporting principals include Awan (Asivak Koostachin), Izzy Reyna (Camille Guaty) and Nathan Abbott (Greg Grunberg), whose loyalties and tangled histories pull against the plan at every turn. The engine is a dangerous undercover operation, where every informant meeting and getaway run risks exposure. Each episode builds tension through surveillance, betrayal and the shifting power between cops and criminals. The series carries a gritty, sun-bleached atmosphere with a sharp sense of 1970s texture, blending hard-edged action with character drama. Fans of Mindhunter, Narcos and Justified will find resonance in its period detail, moral ambiguity and morally compromised heroes. The show was canceled after its single season, leaving its central storyline unfinished.
