## Synopsis

A Love So Beautiful (2020-2021) is a South Korean romance drama series created by Choi Yoo-Jung and Jang Yoo-Yeon and released on Netflix and Kakao TV. Its single season of twenty-four episodes follows a lovestruck teenager, played by So Joo-yeon as Shin Sol-i, whose long attachment to her next-door neighbor shifts as the two grow into adulthood. Kim Yo-han plays Cha Heon, the neighbor at the center of her feelings, while Jo Hye-joo as Kang Ha-Young and Park Ji-won as Oh Hee-Ji fill out the circle of friends and rivals around them. The engine of the series is simple and emotional: the pull of a childhood bond, the awkwardness of first crushes, and the small obstacles of school, family and changing friendships that keep the pair apart and together. Episodes unfold as a single continuing thread in which each stage of growing up deepens the earlier feelings. Set in contemporary South Korea, the show is a k-drama with a sweet, aching register, carrying nostalgia for early love alongside the pain of its slower turns. Its tender, melancholic mood will appeal to viewers who enjoy coming-of-age romance in the vein of Heartstopper and Itaewon Class, and fans of Blue Spring will find its adolescent intensity familiar.
