## Synopsis

Home Economics (2021-2023) is an American family comedy-drama created by Michael Colton and John Aboud for ABC. Topher Grace plays Tom, the sibling who has landed in the 1 percent, while Caitlin McGee plays Sarah, the middle-class sibling, and Jimmy Tatro plays Connor, the sibling barely holding on. Their relationships form the engine of the show, as each adult sibling wants security and respect yet keeps running into the others' expectations, money pressures and old rivalries. Episodes are built from everyday collisions over household bills, parenting, work and holidays, with a supporting cast including Karla Souza as Marina, Sasheer Zamata as Denise and Lidia Porto as Lupe. The show spans three seasons across 42 episodes and was canceled before its story was resolved. Its tone mixes breezy, witty sitcom banter with a sharper, more uncomfortable look at inequality, producing a warm but prickly atmosphere. Set in contemporary American suburbs, it sits in the lineage of Modern Family and Shameless, offering a family comedy that asks what love and loyalty cost when money is unevenly distributed.
