## Synopsis

Star Wars: Visions (2021-present) is a Japanese and American animated anthology series created for Disney+. Each self-contained short, around eighteen minutes long, is produced by a different anime studio, including Kamikaze Douga, Studio Colorido, Geno Studio and TRIGGER, so the look and emotional register shift from one story to the next. Across three seasons of nine episodes each, the series reimagines the Star Wars galaxy through distinct folkloric and cultural lenses, drawing on samurai tales, wuxia-style duels and other traditional storytelling forms. Familiar franchise figures such as Boba Fett appear alongside original characters voiced by Japanese actors including Hiroyuki Yoshino, Masayo Fujita and Anri Katsu, while characters like the Imperial officer, the wandering swordsman and the lone pilot carry each standalone plot. The engine of each episode is a single conflict, a chase, a duel or a moral choice, resolved within its runtime. Tone ranges from wistful and contemplative to propulsive and action-driven, with bold animation and a sense of wonder throughout. Viewers who enjoy Love, Death & Robots and the Star Wars: The Clone Wars will find resonance here, as will fans of anime anthologies. The episodes can be watched in any order and suit family viewing and franchise newcomers alike.
