## Synopsis

The Acolyte (2024) is a United States science fiction mystery series created by Leslye Headland for Disney+, set in the Star Wars universe roughly a century before the rise of the Empire. Lee Jung-jae plays Master Sol, a Jedi Master whose investigation into a shocking crime spree pulls him back toward a dangerous warrior from his past, and Amandla Stenberg plays Mae, a figure at the center of the case. Across a single season of eight episodes, the engine is a procedural hunt: each episode follows the investigators through clues, suspects, and tense confrontations aboard ships and across the galaxy, while the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic prosper in the background. The show's tone is atmospheric and brooding, with mystery and moral tension foregrounded alongside action sequences and lightsaber combat. Its themes center on faith, secrecy, and the cost of an institution that believes itself untouchable. Fans of The Clone Wars and Andor will find familiar franchise texture here, and the story rewards viewers who enjoy a puzzle-driven plot in a fantasy-tinged sci-fi world. The series was canceled after its first season, so its story ends without fully resolving the central conflict.
