## Synopsis

Archer (2009-2023) is an American adult animated spy comedy created by Adam Reed for FX and FXX. Smart-mouthed superspy Sterling Archer (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin) leads a dysfunctional team of secret agents whose dangerous missions routinely dissolve into messy misadventures around the globe. Around him orbit his domineering mother and agency chief Malory Archer (Jessica Walter), the anxious desk operative Cyril Figgis (Chris Parnell), the sharp-tongued Charlotte Vandertunt (Judy Greer), and the ambitious Detective Poovey (Amber Nash). The engine of the show is ego colliding with incompetence: every operation is a chance for vanity, bickering and self-sabotage to undo the agency's pretensions. Episodes unfold as self-contained capers with gleeful escalation, and the fourteen seasons form a loosely continuing workplace saga rather than a single arc. Set in a contemporary world of international intrigue, the series mixes deadpan wit, crude humor and rapid-fire banter with spy-movie gloss. Fans of Venture Bros., It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Get Smart will find resonance in its irreverent satire and affectionate mockery of espionage.
