## Synopsis

Platinum End (2021-2022) is a Japanese anime series produced by Signal.MD and aired on TBS, adapted from a manga. Its troubled middle schooler Mirai Kakehashi (voiced by Miyu Irino) is mired in darkness as his classmates celebrate graduation, until an angel named Nasse (voiced by Yui Ogura) offers him salvation. Mirai is drawn into a deadly contest against twelve other chosen humans, where the winner becomes the next god of the world. The engine of each episode is the uneasy partnership between Mirai and his angel, who must weigh mercy against the brutal necessity of eliminating rivals. Alongside Saki Hanakago (voiced by Mao Ichimichi) and Revel (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), Mirai navigates alliances that shift as trust is tested. The single-season run of twenty-four episodes is one continuing story rather than a case of the week, building tension toward its conclusion. Set in contemporary Japan, the series blends everyday school life with a supernatural battleground. Its tone is dark, suspenseful and psychological, with a bleak, dread-filled atmosphere and a steady undercurrent of tragedy. Fans of Death Note and Future Diary will find resonance in its moral corrosion, divine stakes and relentless survival pressure.
