## Synopsis

Time Bandits (2024) is a New Zealand, British and American family science fiction comedy series created by Taika Waititi, Iain Morris and Jemaine Clement for Apple TV. Eleven-year-old Kevin Haddock (Kal-El Tuck) has a passion for history that is put to the test when he joins a ragtag crew of time-traveling thieves led by Penelope (Lisa Kudrow). Alongside Alto (Tadhg Murphy), Widgit (Roger Jean Nsengiyumva), Bittelig (Rune Temte), Judy (Lo Mutuc) and Fianna (Rachel House), Kevin hops across eras on high-stakes jobs that mix slapstick, bickering and gentle absurdity. Pure Evil (Jemaine Clement) and the Supreme Being (Taika Waititi) add cosmic mischief to the chase. The series is a single ten-episode season of roughly thirty-eight-minute episodes, each built around a standalone heist with a historical setting. Its tone is breezy and playful, aimed at younger viewers and families, and it wears its inspiration from the 1981 Terry Gilliam film openly. Fans of Doctor Who and the 1981 Time Bandits film will find some of the same whimsical time-hopping spirit, though this run was canceled after its first season.
