## Synopsis

Taisho Otome Fairy Tale (2021) is a Japanese anime romance series broadcast on TV Tokyo, a single-season adaptation of a manga that runs twelve episodes of twenty-four minutes each. Tamahiko Shima, a young man exiled to the countryside because of his disability, lives a quiet and lonely existence until an arranged bride, Yuzuki Tachibana, arrives and unsettles his routine. Voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi as Tamahiko and Saya Aizawa as Yuzuki, the principal cast also includes Yume Miyamoto as Tamako Shima and Chika Anzai as Ryo Atsumi, whose presence widens the household around the couple. The engine of the show is small and domestic: awkward meals, shared chores, misunderstandings between two people who must learn to live together, and the slow discovery of what each one hopes for. Each episode is a gentle slice of life rather than a grand plot, with the emotional weight carried by everyday moments. The setting is Taisho era Japan, with its formal marriage customs and countryside estates. The tone is soft, sincere and warm, with a wistful, hopeful undercurrent. Fans of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Chihayafuru and Fruits Basket will find resonance in its gentle romance and historical texture.
