## Synopsis

Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors (2020) is an Indian crime drama limited series created for Disney+ Hotstar, a Hindi-language eight-episode mystery built around the question of why Anu Chandra stabbed her husband. Anuradha Chandra is played by Kirti Kulhari, and the investigation is shaped by Pankaj Tripathi as Madhav Mishra, a lawyer and investigator whose work pulls him into the household. Deepti Naval plays Mrs. Viji Chandra, and Jisshu Sengupta plays Bikram Chandra, whose presence keeps the family's secrets close. The engine of the series is the gap between a clear confession and a truth that refuses to settle: each episode peels back a different account of the marriage, the household and the people who surround it, while the justice process grinds forward through interviews, evidence and the pressures of a middle class family under scrutiny. Shape and scale are compact, one continuous story across a single season of eight episodes, so it plays as a single sustained inquiry rather than a case of the week. The register is tense and intimate, with a brooding, interrogative mood that rewards close attention. Set in contemporary urban India, it lands among fans of Big Little Lies, The Night Of and Sacred Games who enjoy serialized crime built on morally compromised characters.
