## Synopsis

Vengeance Unlimited (1998-1999) is an American crime drama created by John McNamara and David Simkins for ABC. Michael Madsen stars as the enigmatic Mr. Chapel, a figure who helps people who have been wronged gain vengeance against criminals, while Kathleen York plays KC Griffin, a principal character who works alongside him. The engine of the series is the transaction itself: a client with a grievance comes to Mr. Chapel, and each episode follows how he investigates the offender, weighs the cost of retribution, and delivers justice on terms that rarely feel clean. Each hour is largely a self-contained case, giving the show the rhythm of a case-of-the-week vigilante drama. The series ran for one season of sixteen episodes before its cancellation, airing on Thursday nights against the popular sitcoms Friends and Jesse. Set in contemporary late 1990s America, it is grounded in urban crime and moral ambiguity, with a tone that is gritty, brooding and quietly cathartic. Its appeal lies in the satisfaction of seeing wrongdoers face consequences, tempered by unease about who gets to decide what justice means. Fans of Dexter, The Equalizer and Millennium will find resonance in its lone-avenger moral territory.
