## Synopsis

To My Star (2021-2022) is a South Korean k-drama romance series created by Hwang Da-seul, with production by JAYE ENTERTAINMENT and Studio HIM and released on Viki and GagaOOLala. Kang Seo-joon (Son Woo-hyeon) seeks escape from a painful past, while Han Ji-woo (Kim Kang-min) craves a peaceful life, and their paths collide in a countryside village where secrets, jealousy and extortion press in on them. Son Woo-hyeon and Kim Kang-min carry the central romance, supported by Go Jae-hyun as Kim Hyung-ki, Chun Jae-young as Kim Pil-hyun, Kim Jin-kwon as Baek Ho-min and Han Ji-won as Lee Yoon-seul. The engine of the story is the tension between two wounded people who cannot stay the same once they are bound together, with each episode layering scandal, friendship and quiet confessions. Told across two seasons and nineteen episodes, it is a serialized emotional drama rather than a case-of-the-week format, set in a modest rural community. The tone is wistful and melancholic, with moments of warmth and an undercurrent of loneliness and trauma. Fans of Itaewon Class, Crash Landing on You and Reply 1988 will find resonance in its blend of romance and hardship.
