## Synopsis

Orient (2022) is a Japanese animated action fantasy series produced by ACGT, Aniplex and avex pictures and broadcast on TV Tokyo, adapted from a manga. Its single 24-episode season follows Musashi, a young warrior whose childhood friendship with Kojiro Kanemaki (Soma Saito) fuels a shared dream of forming the strongest Bushi band. Musashi is voiced by Yuma Uchida, and the wider cast includes Rie Takahashi as Tsugumi Hattori and Satoshi Hino as Naotora Takeda. Set in a Warring States-inspired Japan where demonic Kishin have struck down the feuding generals and human resistance has survived for 150 years in small rebel fighting groups, the engine of the story is Musashi's struggle with his choices as he confronts the oni who tear people apart. Each episode builds around battles, alliances and the cost of standing against a supernatural occupation. The tone mixes earnest friendship with grim, bloody combat and a tense, mythic atmosphere. Fans of Basilisk and Hellsing Ultimate will find resonance in its blend of samurai action and demon-hunting.
