## Synopsis

Birdman and the Galaxy Trio (1967-1968) is a American animated superhero series created for NBC by the Hanna-Barbera studio, a single-season run of sixty short episodes. Granted the power and wings of an eagle by high priests, the title hero Birdman (voiced by Keith Andes) defends the rights of mankind across the universe, accompanied everywhere by his constant companion, an eagle named Avenger. The supporting cast includes Don Messick as Falcon 7 and Vapor Man, Virginia Eiler as Gravity Girl, and Ted Cassidy as Meteor Man, each voicing heroes who join the cosmic defense. Each brisk eight-minute episode is a self-contained burst of space-age action, with the engine being a hero dispatching threats to the innocent in the stars. The tone is playful and earnest, a bright and campy saturday morning spectacle with limited animation and stylized cosmic backdrops. Its sincere heroics and simple stakes make it a nostalgic period piece for fans of Super Friends and Jonny Quest, with the vintage charm of 1960s Hanna-Barbera productions drawing viewers who love retro superhero cartoons.
