## Synopsis

Frozen Planet II (2022) is a British natural history documentary miniseries created for BBC One, presented by David Attenborough. Across six hour-long episodes, the series returns to the wildernesses of the Arctic and Antarctica, a decade after the original Frozen Planet, to follow the animals that survive the ice and snow. Rather than a single protagonist, the engine is the environment itself: each episode builds around patient field camera work, with crews traveling by boat and working in brutal cold to capture polar bears, penguins, seals, and the other creatures locked into a frozen world. The narrative moves through the seasons of the poles, showing how life adapts, hunts, breeds, and endures across a landscape that looks empty at first glance. Attenborough's measured narration gives the footage a reflective, wondrous register, mixing awe at the scale of the ice with quiet urgency about a fragile habitat. The overall mood is contemplative and gentle, with long unhurried shots and moments of startling intimacy with wildlife. Fans of Planet Earth II, Frozen Planet, and Our Planet will find the same blend of spectacle and natural history storytelling here, suited to viewers who want a calm, visually rich window onto the far corners of the globe.
