## Synopsis

Planet Earth III (2023) is a British natural history documentary miniseries created by the BBC Natural History Unit and broadcast on BBC One. Presented by David Attenborough, the eight-episode series travels to the far reaches of the globe to follow remarkable species through their daily struggles, courtships, migrations and family lives. Rather than a single protagonist, the engine is the animals themselves, each episode built around a particular creature and the obstacles it faces from weather, predators and shrinking habitat. Human figures appear as field workers and conservationists, including the teams protecting seabirds on Raine Island and Indigenous rangers caring for land in northern Australia, whose efforts give the stories stakes. The tone is awe-inspiring and warm, with moments of genuine tension, quiet tenderness and gentle humour, and an underlying hope that human choices can still protect the natural world. Its cinematography is lush and immersive, the kind of widescreen wildlife photography that defines the BBC tradition. Fans of Planet Earth II, Blue Planet II and the original Planet Earth will find the same blend of spectacle, narration and conservation warmth. Viewers wanting a calming, family-friendly watch about the living world will find it accessible for all ages.
