## Synopsis

Inspector Ricciardi (2021-present) is an Italian national-television period crime series created by Maurizio De Giovanni for Rai 1. Lino Guanciale plays Luigi Alfredo Ricciardi, a withdrawn police inspector in 1932 Naples who can perceive the ghosts of people who died violently and hear their final thoughts. His gift isolates him from others, yet it is also the key to solving murders. Antonio Milo plays his loyal colleague Raffaele Maione, and Serena Iansiti and Maria Vera Ratti appear among the principal figures around him. Each episode is built around a single death, with the investigation unfolding through the city's streets, palazzi and tangled family secrets under the watchful eye of the Fascist regime. The series runs across three seasons and fourteen feature-length episodes, forming one continuing story arc rather than standalone cases. Its tone is brooding and melancholic, with a strong sense of period atmosphere, quiet grief and moral unease. Fans of Montalbano and Peaky Blinders will find resonance in its atmospheric mystery, its sensitive lead and its richly rendered historical setting.
