## Synopsis

Aida (2005-2014) is a Spanish comedy sitcom created for Telecinco by Globomedia, a spin-off of the earlier series 7 Vidas. Carmen Machi stars as Aida Garcia, a working single mother of two teenagers who is forced to move in with her mother and brother to make ends meet. Principal cast includes Paco Leon as Luisma Garcia, Melani Olivares as Paz Bermejo, Pepe Viyuela as Chema Garcia and Pepa Rus as Macu Colmenero. The engine of the show is the constant friction of a crowded household squeezed into a modest Madrid flat, where money is always short and every family member wants something different. Episodes are built from everyday domestic squabbles, romantic misadventures, and generational clashes between parents, siblings and teenagers, delivered in brisk multi-camera sitcom style. Across ten seasons and more than two hundred episodes it became one of the most watched programmes in Spain, a long-running ensemble comedy with a warm, cheeky register. Fans of Roseanne and the earlier 7 Vidas will find resonance in its blend of working class humour and sharp family banter.
