## Synopsis

ODDTAXI (2021) is a Japanese animated mystery series produced by P.I.C.S. and OLM and broadcast on TV Tokyo, with a single season of thirteen episodes. Hiroshi Odokawa (Natsuki Hanae) is a reticent walrus who drives a taxi through the crowded streets of present-day Tokyo, and his quiet routine is disrupted when a missing teenage girl pulls him into a case. Ayumu Goriki (Ryohei Kimura) and Miho Shirakawa (Riho Iida) are among the principal figures whose lives intersect with the investigation, while Taichi Kabasawa (Takashi) and Eiji Kakihana (Kappei Yamaguchi) add further layers of suspicion. Each episode is built around a single passenger ride, so the dialogue becomes a vehicle for uncovering fragments of the disappearance, and the tension comes from what characters choose to reveal and conceal. The mood is deadpan and wry, with absurd anthropomorphic bystanders undercutting a murky, unsettling core, and the tone shifts between comic and uneasy. Fans of BoJack Horseman, Twin Peaks and Monster will find resonance in its blend of dark mystery, animal-populated urban life and offbeat character humor. Its single season offers a complete, contained mystery for viewers who enjoy patient, dialogue-driven puzzles.
