## Synopsis

Yellowjackets (2021-present) is an American Showtime drama series created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. A high school girls soccer team, a talented squad bound for a national tournament, becomes stranded after a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series follows the teammates' slide from a fractured but thriving team into savage survival clans, and it intercuts those 1996 struggles with the adult lives the survivors have tried to rebuild nearly twenty-five years later. Melanie Lynskey plays the adult Shauna Sadecki and Tawny Cypress plays the adult Taissa Turner, while Sophie Nelisse and Jasmin Savoy Brown play their teenage selves alongside Sophie Thatcher and Sammi Hanratty. The engine is a stark question of what the girls will do to live and what those choices cost them afterward. Each season is a serialized, three-season saga, and the grounded wilderness scenes carry a menacing, unsettling register that blends survival epic, psychological horror and coming-of-age drama. Its flashbacks and present-day threads build dread through guilt, secrecy and fractured loyalty. Fans of Lost, Stranger Things and Alive will find resonance in its isolated, traumatized group and its long shadow of consequence.
