## Synopsis

Astonishing X-Men (2009-2013) is a United States animated superhero series with a motion comic style, presented as a short-run serialized adventure built on Marvel Knights comic material and released through iTunes Store. The story follows the mutant team as they confront a powerful new enemy while a supposed cure for mutancy surfaces and further endangers their survival. Voice performances by Brian Drummond as Logan / Wolverine, Trevor Devall as Piotr Rasputin / Colossus, and Mark Hildreth as Scott Summers / Cyclops anchor the ensemble, with Laura Harris as Kitty Pryde / Shadowcat and Lara Gilchrist as Emma Frost / Perfection adding further weight. The series runs four seasons across twenty-five episodes of roughly twelve minutes each, so each chapter moves quickly and the larger arc accumulates steadily. Its tone is action-driven and dark, with tension rising around the question of whether mutants can be defined by their power or by their freedom to remain themselves. Set in the present-day Marvel universe, it has a stylized comic-page look that suits fans of X-Men comics. Fans of X-Men: The Animated Series, The Boys and Batman: The Animated Series will find resonance here in its team dynamics and serialized superhero storytelling.
