## Synopsis

Lovers of the Red Sky (2021) is a South Korean historical fantasy romance miniseries created by Jang Tae-yoo for SBS, a sixteen-episode sageuk that unfolds in Joseon-era Korea. Kim You-jung plays Hong Chun-gi, a gifted and cheerful female painter who is chosen as the first woman admitted to the royal painting bureau, where her talent for capturing the world on canvas becomes both a dream and a danger. Ahn Hyo-seop plays Ha Ram, an astrologer whose path crosses hers and pulls her into a fated bond tied to celestial signs. Gong Myoung and Kwak Si-yang appear as royal princes whose rivalry over the court adds political pressure to the story. Prince An-pyeong and Prince Su-yang embody the court intrigue that surrounds the painter's rise. The engine of the series is her determination to keep painting while greed, secrets, and supernatural forces press in on every side. Each episode mixes palace maneuvering with fantasy elements and a slow-building romance. Told as one continuous story across a single season, it is a colorful period piece with a dreamy, romantic atmosphere. Fans of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo and Mr. Sunshine will find resonance in its blend of royal court drama, destiny, and historical costume spectacle.
