## Synopsis

The Duke of Death and His Maid (2021-2024) is a Japanese animated fantasy romance comedy produced by J.C.STAFF and broadcast on TOKYO MX, adapted from a manga. The story follows Duke, a young nobleman cursed since childhood so that anything he touches dies, and his bold, flirtatious maid Alice (voiced by Ayumi Mano), whose advances are as startling as they are sweet. Duke (voiced by Natsuki Hanae) and his loyal companions, including Rob (voiced by Hochu Otsuka) and Zain (voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya), search for a way to break the curse while every touch carries lethal stakes. Each episode mixes playful household banter with a sincere longing for intimacy that the curse keeps out of reach. The single season runs 36 episodes and works as a light, witchy, supernatural romance with a melancholic undercurrent. Fans of Black Butler and The Ancient Magus' Bride will find resonance in its gothic household setting, cursed protagonist, and forbidden-touch romance. Its tone stays sweet and comic while the emotional stakes remain painfully real.
