## Synopsis

Minx (2022-2023) is a US period workplace comedy created by Ellen Rapoport for STARZ and later HBO Max. Ophelia Lovibond plays Joyce, an earnest young feminist who joins forces with Doug, a low-rent publisher played by Jake Johnson, to build the world's first erotic magazine for women. Michael Angarano plays Glenn, a rival and fellow staffer caught up in the scramble, while Jessica Lowe, Oscar Montoya, Lennon Parham and Idara Victor fill out the office ensemble. The engine of the show is practical: every issue demands photo shoots, cheap printing, sales pitches and a cast of ambitious, mismatched workers who must keep the magazine alive while their ideals constantly collide with commercial reality. Each episode moves through the small crises of a struggling publication, mixing sexual candor with sharp ensemble banter. Set in 1970s America, the series captures the era's sexual liberation and feminist debates with a breezy, bawdy, warm tone. Its ten-episode first season and shorter second season make it a compact, character-driven ride. Fans of GLOW, The Deuce and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will find a similar blend of period texture, female-led ambition and adult comedy.
