## Synopsis

Waffles + Mochi (2021) is an American children's animated puppet series created by Erika Thormahlen and Jeremy Konner for Netflix. Curious puppet pals Waffles, voiced by Michelle Zamora, and Mochi, voiced by Piotr Michael, travel to different parts of the world to discover where food comes from and how people cook it. Their adventures are shaped by a simple engine: each episode has the duo set out for a new destination, meet local cooks and families, and learn to prepare a dish using fresh ingredients. The puppets are joined by Michelle Obama, who appears as herself, and by Busy and Magicart, who add playful friendly chatter along the way. The result is a single-season limited series of ten half-hour episodes that feels like a bright, warm children's program, in the spirit of Sesame Street and Parts Unknown with the travel-and-food curiosity of a much younger audience. Its tone is cheerful, gentle, and encouraging, with an emphasis on wonder, friendship, and trying new foods. Fans of Sesame Street, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, and Fraggle Rock will find a similar sense of playful discovery here, aimed squarely at families and preschool viewers.
