## Synopsis

One of Us Is Lying (2021-2022) is an American teen mystery series created by Erica Saleh for Peacock. Its premise is blunt: five high schoolers walk into detention and only four walk out alive. Principal characters include Addy Prentiss (Annalisa Cochrane), Cooper Clay (Chibuikem Uche), Bronwyn Rojas (Marianly Tejada), and Nate Macauley (Cooper van Grootel), each carrying a secret that the investigation threatens to expose. The engine is the police inquiry and the students' scramble to protect reputations, relationships and futures, with each episode peeling back another hidden motive. Across two seasons of sixteen episodes in total, the show moves through a tightly serialized murder puzzle, with flashbacks filling in the lead-up to the death. The atmosphere is tense and gossipy, with a glossy suburban high school setting, sharp social hierarchies and a sapphic romance running through the cast. Fans of Pretty Little Liars, Riverdale and Gossip Girl will find the same blend of teen melodrama and whodunit suspense. Its season-to-season reception was mixed, and the story is cut short before its central question is answered.
